Driven by the desire to discover new knowledge, fundamental research has led to innovations that have transformed the world. Because fundamental research is an essential building block of our long-term economic and societal success, increasing support for fundamental research is crucial for a global economy increasingly based on science and technology. Scientific research is critical to our long-term economic growth and societal well-being, and philanthropic institutions and individuals have a crucial role to play in supporting it. The Biological Diversity Conservation Associates (BIDCON-ASSOCIATES) is a not for profit research and development organization (RDO) in the areas of biodiversity conservation, natural resource conservation and sustainable development in India. It is a knowledge-generating nonprofit philanthropic organization for catalyzing the dissemination of up to date information on Biodiversity & Natural Resource Conservation. We focus on applied science through advocacy, research, education, awareness and action (AREAA) that influence policy and practice on biodiversity conservation and wise use of natural resources. Philanthropy plays an important role in complementing governmental and industry funding for basic research. There are multiple opportunities for philanthropy to make a difference, yet there are very few private funders on biodiversity/natural resource conservation research. Private funders have the flexibility to support nascent ideas and early discoveries that drive breakthroughs, and scale up and accelerate breakthroughs not yet widely embraced. The Biological Diversity Conservation Associates (BIDCON-ASSOCIATES) provides a platform for advancing such efforts. Our research department staff members possess a unique understanding of Biodiversity & Natural Resource Conservation and renown expertise using rigorous research methods. This powerful combination enables the BIDCON-ASSOCIATES to conduct comprehensive research projects for local, national, and global organizations. To learn more, contact us. |
